This month’s focus is on one of our longest serving employees, David Midgley.
Dave has been with the business for 18 years and has held a number of roles. He started in our contract balancing division, quickly moving into a service engineer role and later becoming our service manager. Dave is now our test manager and is responsible for ensuring all machines exceed agreed customer test criteria before shipment and following commissioning.
When asked what he enjoys most about working for UB, Dave said he enjoys the variation that comes with the role as no two days are the same. One of his proudest UB moments was the active participation in all stages of developing and commissioning our first flagship PS100 propshaft balancing machine.
In his spare time Dave likes spending time with his two sons and keeping fit. Dave is a keen runner and partakes in many marathons and endurance contests. An interesting fact about Dave is he once swam 4.5 miles across Weston bay (near Bristol) to raise money for the RNLI (Royal Nation Lifeboat Institution). He was the only one to complete on that day without a wet suit.
Thank you for your service and commitment Dave! Here is to many more years together.
