Non-Rotating Vertical Balancing Machines

  • Non-rotating Balancers
  • Non-rotating Balancers

Universal Balancing’s range of non-rotating vertical balancing machines is an ideal choice for static balancing where on-station correction is not required. The non-rotating vertical balancing machine range delivers high production rates as rotation is not required and unbalance measurement is in real-time, meaning that once the part has settled (within a few seconds), a reading is displayed. Tooling is simple as clamping is not required. Correcting static unbalance has also been made easy through the use of drill points, mill arc-angle and other visual correction methods made possible by Winbal balancing software.

As rotors do not need to be spun to measure unbalance on a non-rotating vertical balancing machine, safety circuits and guarding is not required. As there are fewer machine components than a conventional rotating machine, the non-rotate is extremely reliable and easy to maintain.

Non-rotating balancers are perfect as standalone systems or as part of an integrated 3 station production line where first machine station identifies unbalance (audit), the second station corrects the unbalance and the third audits residual unbalance. The non-rotate balancing machine range can control pre or post manufacturing operations to fully integrate within automated production hi-speed production lines. The advantages of using a three station’s in production lines are the high production rate.

All non-rotating balancers are fitted with the UNI-44 measuring system and Winbal balancing software and operated using a single HMI via a touch screen monitor. (For information on operating balancing machines see the Measuring Systems section).

The main advantages of non-rotating balancing machines in comparison to other types of balancers are:

  • No acceleration/deceleration times
  • Fast measurement
  • Simple tooling
  • Safe - no guard or safety circuits required
  • Less parts means greater reliability
