The KISS-234 propshaft balancing machine utilises next generation controls to provide automatic measurement and multi-plane correction in a single, high speed, production cycle. Controls include high precision tooling, component sensing, paint marking, laser run-out, high capability medium frequency welding modules and automated work handling systems.
Changeover between different types of propshafts is achieved faster than ever before. The use of servo motors in the weld heads and bearers means that automatic changeover is achieved by simply pressing a button. And the use of linear rail enables extremely accurate alignment between bearers which is very important in achieving today’s repeatability requirements.
Dual frameless spindle motors provide a low cost applied torque feature to help simulate actual vehicle conditions. The use of spindle motors rather than a conventional spindle and driveline means that less components are used, removing any issues with driveline interference.
Vector splitting functionality eradicates the need to interrupt the balancing cycle to load specific weights. Other features that aid the potential throughput of the machine to be maximised is automated tooling and automatic unloading post balance.
The KISS-234 propshaft balancing machine is controlled by Universal Balancing’s comprehensive UNI-44 measuring system and Winbal software. All jobs are stored so that recall in future is achieved at the touch of a button. Other useful features include poke-yoke features, extensive diagnostics and analyses tools and remote access for access by a Universal Balancing technician in the event of a breakdown (internet connection required).
