Universal Balancing offers a range of static and dynamic horizontal spindle balancing machines, capable of balancing rotors with a maximum weight of 1,500kg in one or two planes. The machines are ideal for rotors without their own shaft or bearing journals (such as fans and impellers etc) due to the convenient correction heights and positions made possible by the horizontal suspension.

Universal Balancing machines are designed, manufactured and tested in the UK to ISO standards and when required customer specific standards. They incorporate the latest proven technology and deliver unrivalled accuracy and repeatability, and achieve up to 30% faster results than comparable machines on the market.

The horizontal spindle balancing machines are of robust design and are operated by industry leading measuring systems. Clear visuals allow setup to be achieved in a matter of minutes and job recall is made easy by the storage functionality within the measuring systems. Through use of advanced sine wave technology, accurate balancing results are achievable in a matter of seconds, and with a comprehensive yet simple unbalance display and a spindle brake included as standard, correction is carried our faster and easier than ever before. (For information on operating balancing machines see the Measuring Systems section).

To further increases productivity and quality, horizontal spindle balancing machines can be fitted with integrated drilling, milling or welding units for manual or automated on-station correction. The horizontal spindle balancing machine range can control pre or post manufacturing operations to fully integrate within automated production hi-speed production lines.

The main advantages of non-rotating balancing machines in comparison to other types of balancers are:

    • Static and dynamic balance capability
    • Convenient correction heights/access
    • Totally encoded spindle so ideal for correction by grinding
    • Easy to load
    • Fast acceleration/deceleration times
