UNI-44 WinBal Features:
- Extremely comprehensive and intuitive Balancing MMI that typically “includes” the necessary features and functions for any balancing application, as opposed to an “ala carte” approach by competitors software packages for these same features.
- THE most flexible and “programmable” component style balancing system available today. Each balancing plane (1-4) can be setup to either component balance (segments) or not. Then each component location, either symmetrical or non-continuous, can be setup individually. You can also, set different compensation radii for each location. Using the encoder, you can also establish these locations by physically turning the component and setting this position, providing a very fast setup time. All this software is standard, and very easy to use.
- PASSWORD level protection is standard, allowing limitation to the operator’s ability to change or edit job files and job functions.
- Extremely comprehensive and flexible data collection and logging features. Data output can be to a serial port, data file, network drive, and it is completely programmable in terms of content and format. All Microsoft formats are supported (Word, Excel, Etc) allowing templates to be custom designed by the customer.
- Machine sequence “TRACE” function is a very powerful troubleshooting tool for semi and fully automatic machines. This function provides a step by step log of all I/O and function completion, for evaluation either offline or even ONLINE with network connection by local engineering staff AND the technical staff at UB in the UK via the internet.
- Calibration methods are very flexible and can accommodate many different suspension systems. The calibration technology is state of the art, and typically exceeds ISO 2953 specifications in terms of linearity, accuracy and plane influence. This allows retrofit of existing balance suspensions very easily.
- The selectable operator unbalance display format allows a quick change to provide the information as the operator requires. Competitor’s software gives only one or two choices, if any. The Winbal Software is the most flexible on the market. Polar, numeric, component and graphic display is all user programmable.
- The available “compensation” built in functions, are the most comprehensive on the market today. You can program to add weights, and define those set weights. You can remove material, via milling and drilling, allowing entry of all these compensation parameters (drill diameter, max depth, mill arc length) . Using an encoder for drill or mill depth, you can accurately make these corrections, with simple intuitive displays to the operator.
- Touch-screen operation provides an easy to use and intuitive interface for the operator. Standard Windows dialog displays, allow data entry and job selection.
- The diagnostic screen provides a complete “snapshot” of all important I/O signals and balancing signals. Very important for troubleshooting and support functions.
- Tooling compensation function is fast and accurate.
- Unlimited JOB file storage and recall, simply based on storage availability on the hard drive. Simple Windows copy functions allow complete “backup” of essential files to USB memory device, or even to a shared network drive if setup in this manner.
- Error proofing is built into all Job related functions, prompting operator to make sure procedures are followed properly.

Universal Balancing UNI-44 Balancing Instrument
Single board demodulation unit capable of four plane balancing channel inputs, two encoder inputs, serial communication to Windows based PC operator interface, retrofit to existing competitors equipment, unlimited daisy chain I/O for PLC or machine control interface. In comparison to competitors’ demodulation methods of the raw balancing signal, this instrument far surpasses those units. Ask each competitor how recently they have re-designed the analog portion of their balancing system to use what is now considered “state of the art” balance signal demodulation.
Most competitors are using the same analog section of the balancing instrument that they did several years ago, and simply adding some sort of PC Windows based front end software to an antiquated signal processing method. This approach was simply not adequate to Universal Balancing. The combination of technology, and the fast digital processing capabilities of Windows based PC’s, has allowed UB to process the raw unbalance signals faster, and much more accurately than any of our competitors. Software demodulation, extended sample rates, additional filtering, allow UB to determine the exact signal level that is specific to the “unbalance” of the part, not noises generated from drive motors, spindle bearings, etc etc. All on one single board interface. Not a buss style device, where backplane problems exist. One simple unit to deal with. Simple from the outside, but complex in the circuitry. And with the Windows based software, complete signal analysis is as easy as touching the screen. Troubleshooting is fast, calibration is accurate, and intuitive most importantly.
